Why Worry?

Hello, these thoughts have been on my mind and I’ll be sharing.

Worry according to FreeDictionary is defined as:

-To feel uneasy or concerned about something; be troubled.
-To cause to feel anxious, distressed, or troubled.
-To feel uneasy or anxious; torment oneself with or suffer from disturbing thoughts; fret.

There are different types of worries; the good and the bad worry.
Good worry leads to constructive action while Bad worry or toxic worry is unhealthy and involves negative and obsessive thinking, doubt, physical anxiety and fear.

I’ll be talking to people with the bad type of worry.
It’s a new year and the race has started with some people worried and anxious about a whole lot of issues:

-Students who resumed from ASUU strike are under so much pressure and have to take examinations that they are not well prepared for.

-Parents whose children just resumed another session and it’s time to pay school fees plus several other expenses.

-The girl whose health is failing but keeps holding on.

-The one with plans and prospects but know not how to kick start it.

-The boy that wants to stop bad habits but seems impossible.

-The one whose pillow gets soaked every night but smiles the brightest during the day.

-The one hoping for a child but just saw her monthly visitor.

-The boy at the decision avenue hoping not to make wrong choices.

-The one who doesn’t know where the next meal is coming from.

-The girl asking why or how will it happen.

These, and several others like these are the people I’m referring to.
Let us remember that our excessive or toxic worrying can bring no solution to whatever is bothering us but sadness, anxiety, insecurity, doubt, mood swings, loneliness, depression etc.

Whatever situation we find ourselves, God’s word is always there as a manual or handbook to give us direction and his words never change. And that word in Romans 8:18-39(NLT) says:

Yet what we suffer now is nothing compared to the glory he will reveal to us later.  For all creation is waiting eagerly for that future day when God will reveal who his children really are.  Against its will, all creation was subjected to God’s curse. But with eager hope,  the creation looks forward to the day when it will join God’s children in glorious freedom from death and decay.  For we know that all creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. And we believers also groan, even though we have the Holy Spirit within us as a foretaste of future glory, for we long for our bodies to be released from sin and suffering. We, too, wait with eager hope for the day when God will give us our full rights as his adopted children,[t] including the new bodies he has promised us.  We were given this hope when we were saved. (If we already have something, we don’t need to hope[t] for it.

But if we look forward to something we don’t yet have, we must wait patiently and confidently.)
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. (Weaknesses like the bad habits and those weak points)
For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groaning that cannot be expressed in words.  And the Father who knows all hearts knows what the Spirit is saying, for the Spirit pleads for us believers[t] in harmony with God’s own will. And we know that God causes everything (Yes! Everything without exceptions, Everything!) to work together[t] for the good of those who love God and are called according to his purpose for them.  For God knew his people in advance, and he chose them to become like his Son, so that his Son would be the firstborn[t] among many brothers and sisters.

And having chosen them, he called them to come to him. And having called them, he gave them right standing with himself. And having given them right standing, he gave them his glory.

Nothing Can Separate Us from God’s Love

What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us?  Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? (He gave his only son(Selah) whatelse wouldn’t He do for you)  Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself.

Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death?  (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.”[t])

No, despite all these things(All these things including all you worry about), overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us.
And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[t] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Let us always remember that our lives ain’t ours but God’s and He alone is in charge and we live by his grace alone. Having this understanding, we shouldn’t live like we can figure things out but rather live in total surrender to his will for us because his plans are better than ours no matter how beautiful they seem. 🙂

In conclusion, see life as a stage, we are the actors and God Almighty, the best script writer and award-winning director in the world, isn’t it interesting you are on the stage working with this great man. 🙂
Something different about this drama, it’s unlike the ones they act here on earth; we do not know how all the scenes will unfold, we only know the scene we are to act for eachday, hence we are to trust the script writer (God) that he has written the best script and has given each of us roles He trusts us to play beautifully.

Understand your script then play your part to the best of your ability regardless of your weaknesses and leave the worrying to the script writer, He is aware of whatever it is you’re worrying about and has taken care of it before you were called on set, you need not help him figure things out; He is the perfect planner, so why worry? 🙂

2014 is a special year, do not let worry rob you of it’s blessings!
