DAY 23: Muritala Abiola

Wow! I feel so honored to be part of this. Thanks Adepero.

My name is Abiola Muritala. I am grateful to God almighty for everything. First, I have to thank God for giving me the gift that he did as well as a second chance for a better life. I am not there yet but I am no longer were I used to be. Looking back at my life I realized God has always made a way for me even in difficult times.

Early 2013 was one of the most difficult times in my life, but am so grateful to God for turning the table around for me in 2014. All hopes were lost when I had to leave medical school last year, but little did I know that my hopes were being built. I assumed l lost my goals, dreams, friends, love of my life (smiling) etc. and that was like hell for me, but rather it was the way to my haven and I never knew God was preparing something better for me. I felt my leaving med school was to my breaking but in reality it was all for my making. Although, the fact that I had to leave CMUL was my greatest challenge but LOL, reflecting, I kind of like it now. I got to know the true definition of success which is the idea of “not comparing what we have done with what others have done.” I personally refused to give up on my goals and passion because I knew that no obstacles nor failures could stand in my way.

My good times in 2014 were those times I had to travel around USA for conferences, seminars, picnics, holidays and much more. There is nothing as good as discovering one’s self. This year 2014, I was able to discover my true self, purpose and how to be an independent woman. I have also learnt how to manage my time well. Meeting new people from different countries and also trying out new foods is something I found adventurous and pleasant. Other good times are for instance, the showcasing of our Nigerian culture during our Independence Day and how non- Nigerians admire our Naija accents. Again I am also joyous that I am one of the executives in my University’s fellowship this has also helped me build my relationship more with God. I love God and I will forever be chasing after Him. This year I am so’ grateful to God for making me a channel of blessing to others. I thank God for helping me set up my own business. Am happy on behalf of my friends and loved ones for the positive changes and promotions in their lives. Am excited everyone is doing fine because success is not about locations but achieving your designed position in life. Am so happy because in 2014 I was able to reconnect with my loved ones and God also brought someone special into my life. More so, the fact that am studying my dream course is something fulfilling to me.

However, I did have some bad times in 2014. For instance, shuffling between work and school has not been an easy task but thank God for strength. Then  most times cold weather is not funny at all! I also lost some couple of people this year which was so painful. In 2014, the fact that I have not been able to reach most people that were there for me is also something that breaks my heart. I miss seeing some CMUL students I can’t start to mention. I miss all my friends, roommates, and colleagues. Though I know I have not been able to communicate with everyone as much as I want to, but trust me you are all always on my mind. I love y’all.

Lastly, my 2014 is a fulfilled and fun filled year for me.  I call it my year of returns because I got virtually all what I thought I had lost. Am using this medium to encourage those that are having some challenges and are going through rough and limiting times, I just want you to know that God is the greatest problem solver and He is not sleeping on your case.

My goal for next year is to stand out and not try to blend in. I hope for more success, grace, favor, empowerment for me and my loved ones in 2015. I aspire to embark on a new project next year and I pray that God blesses me in all my endeavors.

Love you Adepero! I keep saying this since 2009 and I will always do. Thanks for giving me the privilege to have this shared on your blog.
……………Season’s Greetings to y’all. Gracias!
