Day 29: Folasade Ayangbemi

This was the most difficult post to get up here*wipes tears of relief* I truly hope you enjoy it! 🙂

2014 has finally ended. It was such a full year for me. Full of ups and downs, trials and triumphs. This is my season of thanksgiving. I sit here in my home and I am full of gratitude to God for everything and everyone He has blessed me with.
I started 2014 with an uncertain future. Pregnant, unmarried, and in spite of all my efforts to change my status, my stubborn Ekiti family maintained their stance and I was being pulled hither thither. I had only a few points on my prayer list:

1.) An absolutely healthy child. Ten fingers, ten toes. all openings patent and no fistulas. Only those in the medical field will understand the things I was afraid of.
2.) I wanted my fiance to become my husband. Not just my baby daddy. He was willing, but the devil was blocking things.
3.) My own home where my in-laws wouldn’t have a say in how many pieces of meat my husband or I eat.
4.) PEACE!

I got all I wanted, though I had soooooo many challenges and shed enough tears to fill buckets.
I finally got married in the most quiet way you can imagine. My brother David Alagbada, who had been the bane of my existence since he was born, became my salvation. He walked me down the aisle on a broken leg, no less. The love i have for him now ehn, e no get part 2! You have earned my respect as you stepped up and stepped into our late father’s shoes. God bless you o!

Let me apologize to those of you who didn’t get to witness it. We’ll make it up to you at our 10th year anniversary 😀

I went into labor Easter Weekend on Saturday. 12 agonizing hours later I was still in there. Complications with the baby’s head not  engaging and stuff made the whole thing moot. I had to have a c-section, but finally I got to see him. At 1:20pm Easter Sunday, he came out screaming, all 4 point something kilograms of pink cuteness, head full of hair and tight little fists, complete 10 fingers.

My new family and I moved to our new home in October. A house made more beautiful by the absence of hostile people and the unadulterated love from my husband and son. 

Another new beginning for me was finally fully entering Year Book Class of 2015. Finishing exams on the 23rd of December, freed me to have as much fun as possible for the rest of the year without worrying about academics. I’m in YBC, I can’t keep calm!

This Christmas is my baby’s first Christmas and though he wouldn’t remember it, I sha bought him Christmas cloth :P. I also decorated my house and feeling like a madam was awesome. Being married is fun o. Very sweet. I highly recommend it 😉

I have to appreciate all those who helped make my life easier, and fun, especially great friends like Sike Ajayi, who loves people in a beautifully selfless manner. God bless you babe and Jesse and I love you loads. I truly appreciate you and I hope you get all the love you deserve in life.

Adepero Ajayi. You have given me an outlet to testify to the goodness of God in my life, you will have course  to testify in 2015. On behalf of all the guys, I say welcome to the crew. I’m sure Fish is glad 😉 😀

Kanyinsola. You are such a silly delight. I hope somehow, you get Burnaboy to marry. (Ok, I don’t lol, but I know you love him). I love you loads. Hope you get a boyfriend

Ngozi Krystle.I’m definitely naming my baby girl after you. You have such a sweet spirit, and an even sweeter smile. You’re beautiful girl!

Gift! You are beautiful too. Funny and lively. May your light never dim, or your beauty fade. I love you too!

Byba, my love…Mummy loves you the most. Your laughter is always beautiful and cute. May it never be stolen from you.

Tejumade Zulikha Adedokun Thanks for all your love and assistance. I cried on your shoulders and you listened and helped. Your assistance academically too has not gone unnoticed, and neither will you when it’s time for God to bless people. I love you.

Bolanle, my love, my first born. Thanks for not kidnapping Jesse. We love you loads. You are a joy and a delight. God bless you!

Kemi Windapo I’m guessing we fight so often cos we’re alike deep down inside. I hope you know I love you so much. Please get  fatter this season! This is the only picture of you I could find.

Phoebe. You were here when I went in labor. You stayed with me till I had my baby, all the way from Abuja, you came and helped me and stayed with me a while. You are a rare gem. You are very much loved. God bless you!

My husband’s friends who have shown us so much love, I can’t forget you all either.

Mike Udojie.You have gone above and beyond the call of duty. You have shown my husband, and by extension my son and I, so much love, that we can’t help but love you too. God bless you!

Femi Coker. I know you’re definitely going to read this. We love you. Go forth and be a fisher of men ♡♥♡

Osemu You are so full of life and energy. You live life with passion. I love you and your wife and son. I hope both our families stay close, and our sons be as brothers.

I’m so happy to have all these fantastic people in my life but the one person I can’t live without, my better half, my partner in everything, Paul, My husband. On the 9th of April, we said our vows, but the journey truly began on the 27th of December 2009. I have loved you since then, and I will love you forever come anything. You have been my inspiration, my rock, and my home. I adore you. God bless you, God keep you, and may he continue to cause his face to shine upon you. Thank you for your patience in dealing with me, I admit I’m a handful, but you’re doing a wonderful job with me, and an even better job as a father. You are fantastic. I Love you die! 2014 was my year of new beginnings.
