There are friends and there are friends who turn sisters…
*****************************
As 2015 comes to a wrap, it brings out a lot of moments to reminisce. There are a lot of things to be grateful for. Renowned motivational speaker Tony Robbins talks about an attitude of gratitude and how being grateful for what we have in our lives means we in turn attract more positive experiences to be thankful for.
I’m grateful for the simple things like the gift of life; good health; provision; being able to hear, see, and talk (considering the fact that I like talking). I’m grateful for family and amazing friends, they have made life worth living. I’m grateful for my successes and my failures without which I could not have attained the former.
Beginning of 2015 held a lot of uncertainties for me. I needed to change my job badly, I had relationship issues. I didn’t know whether to try harder or walk away. It was not easy but somehow I found the courage to let go and faced the reality of certain someone not being in my life. I was hurt yeah, but it was not as bad as I expected (wonderwoman things).
During the course of the year I had few health issues, some family issues also that made me really sad. But God took control and He will perfect that which he had started (amen).
It was not all gloomy and sad. I got another job which made me really happy. Some of my best friends got engaged/married this year. (I’m a hopeless fan of love). And yes my best friend is going to be a mom (she should be a mom already by the time this article is posted). And it’s amazing and I couldn’t be more grateful to God. New-borns gives me hope that in the midst of all the chaos in the world, there’s still innocence. It gives the world a promise of a future.
I told someone that this year was uneventful for me. But I realised I learnt a lot about myself. I can say I grew up. I learnt when to fight for something and when to let go. I learnt when to talk and when to be silent. I actually learnt to be patient. I learnt not to underestimate anyone because everyone has the capacity to be great. It doesn’t hurt to do a little kindness, the world has enough evil.
2016… I hope it will be a good year.
Someone once wrote; if you do not design your own life plan, you will fall into someone else’s plan. I really don’t like calling it New Year resolutions/goals/plans, I prefer to call it ‘Intentions’
So I intend to move forward with my career. And I intend to be more fashion forward and activate my social life. I also intend to put in more efforts relationship wise the importance of which cannot be overemphasized (ask my mother). Most importantly, I intend to go to church every Sunday in 2016 except when I have to be unavoidably absent. So help me God.
Merry Christmas and Happy New year in advance everyone.
