Can I Be Vulnerable With You?

Depression

Hello, my name is Adepero Ajayi, I am the creative and content director of Perry’s Tots. I know it’s not news but can we please start our relationship afresh?

In the past few months I’ve had to  deal with a lot of things including depression, and sadly I had my worst episode ever. Depression is such a dark place to be. My God!

To anyone reading this going through a difficult time, I just want you to know that you’re strong, you’re great, you’re a star, everything would work out for your good. Just give it one more day and if it doesn’t work out tomorrow, give it another day. I’m not trying to make you feel good or convince you, I am telling you the honest truth. I may have never met you but I know this is true and I don’t play with my words.

I would share my experiences with you in subsequent posts. Today, I just want to renew my vow with my blog readers. I was having a chat with one of my best friends on earth (he is one of the people who inspired me to start Perry’s Tots) and he made me see certain things from a different point of view. For instance, when I get overwhelmed, I just take a break, however, I could just write through the process of how I feel; my fears, disappointment and all.

So guys, I would be more vulnerable with my writing and don’t  be afraid. One of my friends of donkey years was shocked to see how vulnerable I could be.lol

By the way, I cut my hair.

I think so many people share the glam and don’t share their struggles and pain which makes people think they are alone on their journey cos the next person seem perfect. Although not everyone wants their business in the public eye, we still need to share our stories of strength, hope and possibilities.

Can you believe Perry’s Tots would be 5 years in September 2018!!! Even though I downplay everything I do in the bid to aim higher till it got to an unhealthy level , my friend made me vow never to do that again. Lol  After my last post, I really thought I was getting to the end of the blogging line but I just went to refuel to continue this journey.

LEARN.

I had a rare privilege of listening to Dr. Okulaja share about TOTAL WELLNESS yesterday ahead of the event tomorrow. Dr. Adepero Okulaja is an internal medicine specialist in Edina, Minessota and has practiced for over 27years. She began her career at the University of Pennsylvania and completed her residency training at the Albert Einstein Medical center. She is the medical director at the Doctor’s House. I cannot begin to describe how fulfilled I felt after listening to her speak.

I was at a phase where I had questions about my health. The way she told her story and how she had overcome some challenges that would have ordinarily drowned anyone was so liberating for everyone who listened. Debunking several false health beliefs and building up the seven pillars of total wellness with each material well-crafted to create an edifice.

Do you know your health is linked with your purpose?

Do you know your health is beyond your physical but includes emotional, intellectual, social, environmental, financial and spiritual wellbeing?

Come listen to Dr. Okulaja speak on TOTAL WELLNESS for your body, soul and spirit like you’ve never heard tomorrow and your health would be better for it.

See you tomorrow.

Date: Friday 1st June 2018.

  5. When I read your last post, I was sad that you were leaving the blogging space When I saw the notification for the new post, I was like, “Perry is back to blogging? Yaayyy! Yaayyy!” I’m so glad you are back here for us and thanks to your friend that encouraged you to write through the process. True, many people don’t share their pain and struggles, but only the glam, which can be deceptive. It’s important than we share our stories of strength, hope and possibilities. I’ll ensure I purchase your books online and share with my community. Cheers, Perry. ❤❤❤
