Year 2020 (twenchy twechy)!! What a year, this one period we all are not going to forget in a hurry. When I think of this year all that comes to mind is gratitude, in that vein I want to say thanks to Pero for giving me this opportunity to share myvoice, I’m going to make this brief.
I started the year in the typical Lagos traffic after picking up a family member from the airport hoping to get home on time for the watchnight service, but I couldn’t. While driving I was lost in thought, reminiscing on how the previous year had been awesome; I got a new Job, a new car and met special people. I was hyped about the new year knowing fully well I wasn’t the only one who felt this way, I mean vision 2020!
Just into the first quarter of the year, Covid happened, the world as we knew it changed. From one lockdown to another. This period made me realize how much we took simple things for granted, I mean life itself is a gift, a big flex in fact. What about freedom of movement, provision of food and so on. Trust me I don’t take these seemly small things for granted again.
The need for companionship as well as compassion was at its peak. I saw people show love like never before irrespective of age, religion, ethnicity and race as we all had a common enemy in COVID-19. I learnt to be more compassionate and for this I’m also grateful.
Well as for companionship there’s evidence people are bridging gaps as the amount of weddings, we’ve seen so far has been a lot, (wahala for who no engage or marry oh).
Looking back on how I and my family survived COVID-19, END SARS saga and so many other challenges all I say is that God has been faithful. My heart goes out to anyone who lost loved ones this year, may God Almighty comfort you.
For the remaining days of this year I urge everyone to stay safe, stay healthy and don’t forget to always give thanks, remember what God cannot do doesn’t exist.
Wishing everyone a merry Christmas and a Splendid 2021!!
