Day 24: Tolulope Ariyo

2020!!! What a year!

This year came with a lot of high hopes for me, I had plans and ambitions ranging from career to other things. I had a job that made me a little comfortable, at least to take care of my needs, and also afforded me the opportunity to learn more about real estates business which I have always been interested in. I had plans on futhering my legal education and I thought I had it all figured out. Then boom! Covid 19 came, the pandemic of the century, Lol. Lock down and all.

I was laid off at work because my company was downsizing. This came as a rude shock as I was just settling into the year, paid house rent and had no savings. I was so sad and depressed. At the beginning of the pandemic, I was a bit scared due to the scary news all over the internet, but along the line, with the help of God through my pastor, as I listened to online sermons and joined in prayers, my heart was encouraged and I had my faith built up. Then I started listening to a lot of sermons on YouTube more often and also watched Christian movies, I became very conscious of what I watched and listened to. Then after a few weeks, I started to get a lot of clearer revelations and visitations from God, this was an overwhelming experience for me.
I have been a Christian for many years, but this was a new realm of experience for me, it was more like I was isolated from the world for this purpose because I stayed back in Lagos and did not travel home for the lock down. I stayed alone throughout this period not working in any employment, God was faithful to provide my needs.

Along the line, depression set in again, I fell out of God’s will, started to backslide, I would sometimes cry about this because it was like I had no control over the situation and a stronger force was involved. Then on the first day of August 2020, I heard the voice of God, the single word he spoke solved all my problems and I was healed, delivered and restored. God also sent a friend to me that same day, she called to confirm the same word that was spoken to me. Since that day up till now, it’s been a beautiful journey with the lord, he never stops sending his soothing words to me, and this has been my source of hope and comfort.

I started a food delivery business @mega_cookhouse sometimes mid September, and I have been trying to grow it since then. I also trust the Lord to help me get a law job soon as I would still love to practice. To everyone reading this, these are my words to you; the Lord makes everything beautiful in his time, and also that “all things work together for good for those who love God and are called according to his purpose” (Romans 8:28)

My sincere appreciation goes to God, my sustainer, My lovely parents, Pastor and Deac. Ariyo, My Sister, Temitope, My Church family, RCCG, the Oasis, My pastor, Pastor Nathaniel Bassey, My friends, Bro. Gbenga, Tokunbo and Pero. You all made 2020 a phenomenal experience.
2020, WE FLY!!!
